Are my donations tax-deductible?

Grace Community Church is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all donations that we receive are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Please consult a tax professional if you have questions about the deductibility of your contributions.

What’s the difference between logging in and giving as a guest?

Giving as a guest is a limited option which only allows one-time gifts by credit/debit card. When you log in to your account, you have more options. You can give via a bank account, and also optionally set up recurring donations. Furthermore, you can see your giving history and manage all of your payments. We encourage all regular attenders of GCC to make online gifts by logging in.

How do I get a username and password to log in?

If you do not have a username and password, just click the “Sign Up” link, located just below the username and password fields. Fill in your contact details and you will be given access to our online system. If the email you provide matches the email address we have for you in our system, you will immediately receive an activation email to log in to your account. If you provide a different email, it might take a day or two to match your account.

Can I designate my gift to a particular department or ministry?

We accept gifts designated to only a few specific accounts. These include the general fund, missions general, occasional special projects, and benevolence. All other GCC ministries are funded by your gifts to the general fund.

How often do you send giving statements?

Giving statements are mailed each January for the previous year. Note that loose cash donations cannot be tracked and will not be included in this statement. If you have moved recently or had a name change because of an updated marital status, please send us your updated information.

Is my information secure when I give online?

Our online giving website has implemented precautions including password protection, encryption, and secure socket layering to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. What forms of payment do you accept online?

We currently accept electronic check or Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit/debit cards. We do not accept American Express at this time.

Are there fees associated with giving online?

You are not charged any fees to give online. However, when you make an online gift with a credit or debit card, Grace Community Church incurs fees that typically range from 2.5% to 3.5%. These are normal card processing fees and cannot be avoided. Donations made via Bill Pay or ACH have very minimal fees associated with them and are preferred.

Can I schedule recurring donations?

Yes. When you give by logging in to your account, you have many options for recurring contributions. This includes one time, weekly, every two weeks, monthly, yearly, etc. Just click the “Give” tab (dollar sign) in the lefthand navigation menu to get started!

Can I edit my existing recurring donation?

If you would like to make changes, simply delete your existing recurring donation and create a new one. When logged into your account, click the “Give” tab (dollar sign) on the lefthand navigation menu, then on the right you will see an “Actions” menu. You can choose to stop or view details of your existing recurring donations.

Can I test this by giving one time? 

Yes. Unless you specify a recurring donation, your contribution will only occur once.

Can I see what I’ve given in the past?

Yes. All of your online giving is recorded in your profile and is accessible when you’re logged into the Online Giving system. Simply click your name in the top righthand corner of the website and click “Profile”. This will open your user profile, and your previous gifts will be visible under the “Financial” tab. Note that loose cash donations cannot be tracked and will not be visible here or included in your year-end giving statement.

If we want people to get out of debt, why does Grace Community Church accept credit card donations?

Used within the parameters, debit and credit cards can be an efficient tool for payments and purchases. Many people now utilize them in place of cash or checks, and then pay off the balance in full each month. For these people, we offer the option of using a credit or debit card for their convenience. We strongly discourage those who have ongoing credit card debt from exercising this option. Please note that Grace Community Church incurs fees that range from 2.5-3.5% for credit/debit card payments. When you pay via bank account, the fees incurred by the church are very minimal, which is why we prefer this form of giving.
